Crate mat sale!
Call us eccentric, but we are sewing up a storm making crate mats in all sizes! Yes, it is tough working with faux fur on these warm days, but the secret is to cut the fabric (and shake it) in the cool breezes of the morning and evening. This effort has resulted in some great mats--made from leopard faux fur, paw print faux fur (summer weight), polyester, washable silk, cotton, and quilted jacket fabrics! Take advantage of our sale--save $3 on each mat (any size) if more than one is purchased! This sale runs through June 30, 2009.
Our next AKC show (last one till fall) will be at the Stark County Fairgrounds in Canton on June 6 and 7. These are the McKinley Kennel Club Dog shows and we are pleased to be a returning vendor this year. See you there!

Why I love this job!
Thought I'd share a nice letter, written by Chevy, a friend's 14 yr. old rescued dog:
Dear Aunt Phyllis -- Thank you SO much for the wonderful coat. I've been wearing it every day. It keeps me warm so I can run through the snow and chase and bark and sniff. I'm a Pointer, I have to do those things! When Dad takes my coat off, he can tell that my body is much warmer than my head. I only come in when my toes get cold. Mom doesn't think I'll need leg straps. The big front and under-belly bands hold the coat on pretty snugly and it doesn't move around on me when I'm running. I'm such a happy Pointer now. Thank you. Chevy

Snoods--not just a fashion statement!
It is always amazing to note the kinds and variety of dogs who use snoods. Most of us think of afghans, bassets, cocker spaniels, cavaliers. etc as needing snoods to keep their long ears out of their food and water. Pammer's Petwear has "snooded" over 16 breeds of dogs and we are still counting! Several Phodesian Ridgebacks with ear "dings" need them as do Great Danes. A friend's beagle cut his ear while running in the field, and a snood helped keep him from shaking the bandage and dressing loose. Many dogs need a snood to keep injuries from recurring. Some need them to keep warm (greyhounds, IG's, dobies).
Fabric choices are the fun part of "snooding" dogs! W e offer mesh, fleece, polyester, very thin dressy fabric, cotton, knit, and lightweight denim. Many of our snoods are made from fabrics with cute, whimsical patterns (golf, paw prints, stars, airplanes, bugs, geometric designs, etc.)
Please access our website www.pammerspetwear.com for more info about our snoods. Also, if you email pammer@sssnet.com , we can provide you with pictures of what is on hand and what fabrics can be made up quickly. Several foks have sent their favorite fabrics to us and we can make up custom snoods for your dogs.
Thank you.

Leaker Locker (belly band) care
Ever wonder how to keep your Leaker Lockers (belly bands) looking new through many washings? To keep the hook and loop closures clean, make sure you close the belly band each time you launder them.
In case the hook and loop (velcro) gets full of fibers, hair, and lint, use a flea comb or metal dog brush to clean! It does wonders. Another hint is to use one of those old-fashioned small suede brushes to clean each end.
We are now making several styles of Leaker Lockers, thanks to customer requests and suggestions. We make rectangular tapered wraps (most popular) as well as "winged" bands and "pouches". We also use various lengths of elastic on one or both sides for flexibility in sizing. Please contact us for your custom orders. pammer@sssnet.com (330) 854-2789.
Pammer's Petwear also welcomes wholesale orders. We donate to several breed clubs for their auctions and welcome orders from rescue groups. Anything that will help meet the needs of the dogs and their people is our priority. Many veterinarians are asking for our products. Please consider recommending us to your vet.
Thank you.

2009--a great year!
It is our hope that 2009 is a wonderful year for you and yours. Hopefully, there will be improvements for the animals as well in '09. Plans are to feature some of the unique stories of rescued dogs we have crossed paths with and share them with you here on our blog.
As always, Pammer's Petwear tries to better the lot of rescue dogs through donations to breed rescue groups and clubs. We recently donated snoods to Bassets, Irish Setters; belly bands to Bichons and all breeds; and a throw to the Golden Retrievers! It is our pleasure to help the fundraising efforts for these dogs.
And, finally, thanks to all of you for a wonderful show at the Rubber City Kennel Club in Tallmadge this past weekend. We enjoyed seeing the dogs, and thanks for your input into what products you would like us to carry in the future and how we can improve our exisiting lines.
Our next AKC show is in Columbus in April--more info. to come.

Animal Rescue Site
To those of you who contribute to animal charities, thank you. A very easy and worthwhile thing to do is to click on (free) to http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/ daily to help feed shelter dogs. There is a daily reminder on the site, and you will get a cheerful link each morning. Your click on this and other sites (breast cancer, hunger, rain forest, literacy) does make a difference.
